Before joining The Markup, she was a data researcher for the FinCEN Files, Luanda Leaks, and the Panama Papers investigations with the International Consortium for Investigative Journalists. She also recently reported on the clandestine graves in Mexico, and was a John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford. Before becoming a full-time journalist, she was a professor of journalism and communication at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
