Rachael Berkey was the director of audience for The Markup. She developed and executed the organization’s overall audience growth and engagement strategy across social and non-social channels. She left The Markup in July 2022.
Before joining The Markup, Rachael was a senior brand manager at Everybody at Once, where she specialized in organic community building and brand growth. Her time there was primarily spent working with entertainment brands for BBC America, including managing social campaigns for Emmy– and Golden Globe Award–winning “Killing Eve.” Prior to Everybody at Once, Rachael worked with the New York Public Library and the Office of the Mayor of New York City.
Rachael is an avid consumer of and creator for digital platforms and is passionate about the health and well-being of online communities. She advocates for honest communications between organizations and the audiences who love them.
She also serves on the board of directors of Plastic Free Restaurants, a nonprofit working to eliminate petroleum-based plastic, one restaurant at a time.
