Rina Palta

Rina Palta was our news editor, leading The Markup’s team of enterprise reporters. She left in June 2022. Her focus is on illuminating the ways big systems forget to care about the people they depend on and serve.

Before coming to The Markup, Rina was an investigative reporter for KPCC, the NPR station in Los Angeles, and KALW in San Francisco. She’s reported extensively on California’s homelessness crisis, law enforcement agencies, and prisons and jails.
