Lisa Tozzi

Lisa Tozzi managed a team of enterprise beat reporters who cover the impact of technology on society. She also oversaw the daily operations of the website, including graphics and audience development, and edited the Ask The Markup series.  She left The Markup in June 2020.

Before The Markup, she was global news director at BuzzFeed, where she led a team of more than 60 journalists based in Los Angeles, London, New York, D.C., and Toronto. She started her journalism career covering local government, education, and crime for The NewsTribune in Woodbridge, N.J., and eventually ended up at the New York Times, leading the newsroom’s transformation from a print to a digital focus from 2000 to 2013.
