Lauren Spirig, The Markup’s first Director of Development, is charged with building and executing strategies for sustainable fundraising.
She has had a long career in nonprofit fundraising. Most recently, she spent nine years in independent schools in Manhattan and New Jersey, where her work focused on capital campaigns and endowment fundraising. Her expertise in major gifts and development strategy is grounded in collaborative and mission-driven work.
Lauren is deeply committed to fundraising as a mechanism for promoting equity and justice, and believes in empowering communities to create lasting, positive change.
