Kate Myers

Kate Myers is an experienced leader and business strategist with deep experience in for-profit, nonprofit, and public media. She served as interim CEO from September 2022 to February 2023.

Before joining The Markup, she served as interim CEO for the Center for Public Integrity, the executive director for First Look Institute, (the parent nonprofit for The Intercept, the documentary studio Field of Vision and the Press Freedom Defense Fund), and vice president for business development at Inside Higher Ed. She also spent eight years at National Public Radio in various audience, strategy, and product roles.   

Additionally, she is an independent consultant, manages Poynter’s program for local news transformation, and coaches public media general managers and other newsroom leaders.
