Let’s start with the huge news: The Markup is joining forces with the incredible CalMatters! This combination is going to supercharge the impact of our work, and do it on a powerful playing field: locally in California. Combining our California-focused investigations and service journalism and CalMatters’ commitment to supercharging their tech operation (we love their custom AI tool, Digital Democracy!) meant teaming up was a no-brainer. We could not be more thrilled about the potential that lies ahead.
